The Daly River hits its 2018 peak on January 31

It is going to be huge run-off season for the Top End this year.

The Daly River hit 14.9 metres on January 31, well past the major flood level, and all the northern catchments are full.

Rivers with a great outlook for the season are the Moyle, Daly, Finniss, Adelaide, Mary, Wildman and the various Kakadu rivers.

The McArthur in the Gulf of Carpentaria got a big, fast flush but the Roper has not had a lot of rain compared with the northern rivers.

This good rain follows a big wet season in 2017, good news for Territory fishos.

And don’t forget Million Dollar Fish also runs through February, and kicks off again in October.
