2017 run-off looks like a cracker

The Weather Bureau is predicting an early start to Northern Australia’s wet season, thanks to the Indian Ocean Dipole.

Also, there is a good chance of a La Nina weather pattern forming, which traditionally brings extra rain to the latter part of the wet season (Jan-Feb-Mar).

In other words, the recipe is right for a historic barramundi fishing year.

After four below-average wet seasons, it will be a great relief for those who love fishing the Top End run-off.

This weather news, combined with the NT’s Million Dollar Fish kicking off from October, makes the Territory the place to be for barramundi fishing in 2017.
